Books, Books, and More Books

I have ten days till I leave for the wonderful city of Paris! I have most everything I need except a few things, like a book for class, adapter and converter, a cheap toothbrush, and so on. My adapter and converter should be here tomorrow, thank you to my wonderful friend Kelly for letting me take hers over with me.

Two books and five eBooks. That is how many books I am taking with me to Paris. The number makes me feel like a nerd, but what can I say, I love to read! One of the books I am taking with me is a textbook so I don't think that one should count! Another one of the books I'm taking is What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen, which will be a light read in comparison to what I have been reading recently.

Sometimes when I lay awake at night, I feel like the girl I was before I moved to Chicago. Someone that was ordinary, but after June 3rd, 2011 I hope I'll be more than ordinary. Being someone that has stories to tell is something I want out of my life, especially if I want to write a book. Who wants to read about a boring person?

Crossing Off My Bucket List

Every once and again I look over my bucket list. I realized I would be crossing off a few off once I get to Paris! I can't wait to put a dent into the 135 items on the list. So far I have only crossed off six, but now I will hopefully be crossing off four more.

32. Visit the louvre
35. Take awesome pictures of the Eiffel Tower
106. Watch a sunrise
109. Go on a picnic

There are more things I want to do while I am there, like visit the spot where the guillotine was, which is the Place de la concorde, and I also what to visit the catacombs! I think this makes me a very morbid person for wanting to see these places of death.

Au revoir!

Preparations

Today I went to Target and a thrift store and got some of the items I will be needing while over in Paris. I got black flats, shampoo and conditioner, French press and ground coffee. I am such a coffee addict I am taking a French press with me! I don't want to spend a few dollars everyday for this addiction, but spend that money else where like on gifts for my lovely friends that I am leaving behind for a few weeks. Now time for a quick French lesson!

First Meeting (21 Days)

On Tuesday, May 10th, I went to my first meeting before leaving on June 3rd. There are about 17 people going with me to the city of lights! I think that our group is going to have a bunch of fun while we are traveling and taking classes. I have the same class schedule as many other of the students. Which is reassuring, I will know people in my class! I always have the fear of not knowing who will be in class with me, but know I know. I am a now a team leader for the lovely United Kingdom! I can't wait to learn more about the country that I seem to have an attraction is to.

Today I bought my map for the trip. It one is water repellent and and huge without being to big. I have decided to go without a travel guide. I plan on exploring the city by myself and not according to someone else's trip. All I need is a map, google, and yelp!
